Effective Date: April 2026
Lebanon 2 ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website app.lebanon2.io and lebanon2.io. We are a map-based digital economy and civic platform that connects users with real-time activities, infrastructure reports, and commercial opportunities across Lebanon.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal data. By accessing or using Lebanon 2, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in this Policy.
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
2.2 Location Data (GPS)
Location data is a core component of Lebanon 2. When you attempt to post a civic alert (such as Traffic, Municipality Issues, or Safety Alerts), the platform will request access to your device's precise GPS location. This is required to enforce our proximity rules (e.g., verifying you are within 300m of the reported traffic jam). We only ping your location when you actively initiate a location-based post. We do not track your movements in the background.
2.3 Information Collected Automatically
When you use the platform, we automatically collect technical data including your IP address, browser type, device information, and interactions with the map (such as which tiles you click or filter).
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
Lebanon 2 is a public digital street layer. When you submit a post (whether free or paid), the content—including photos, descriptions, contact methods (e.g., WhatsApp number for rentals), and the exact pinned location—is visible to all users and the general public on the map.
Do not include sensitive personal or financial information in your public posts or descriptions.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for commercial purposes. We only share information in the following circumstances:
We use cookies to maintain your active session, remember your map filters, and understand how users interact with our platform to improve performance. You can disable cookies through your browser settings, though this may limit your ability to log in or use certain features of the map.
We retain your account information for as long as your account remains active, specifically to maintain your ownership records of digital Tiles and your transaction history. Civic alerts (like traffic) are deleted or hidden automatically after their short lifespan expires. Paid commercial listings are hidden once their purchased duration ends.
You may request the deletion of your account; however, digital Tiles you purchased will be forfeited and returned to the platform in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.
We implement robust technical and organizational security measures to protect your data, including encrypted databases and secure SSL connections. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security against advanced cyber threats.
